Doselock
Doselock is an innovative product delivery system that is an advance on the current system used in many hospitals. This system is called dose banding, where pharmacies stock and use different size syringes to make up a given dose. Doselock is an alternative that reduces the number of syringes that need to be stocked, dispensed, and disposed of – reducing wastage, minimizing risk of contamination, and significantly reducing cost.
How it works
Doselock fits around the plunger of a standard 50ml BD syringe. The device is a permanently lockable stem that can be used by the pharmacist during dispensing and allows a precise dose (lockable intervals set at 1mm) to be safely administered by the nurse, with any residual drug being discarded.
